Judy Lynn Jensen Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1948 - 2010

Judy Lynn JensenJudy Lynn Jensen passed away peacefully early Saturday, February 20, 2010 surrounded by her family after struggling courageously with pancreatic cancer. She was born January 14, 1948 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Eugene and Barbara (Herron) Johnson. She graduated from Central Montcalm High School in 1966 and married her high school sweetheart, Stewart F. Jensen, on October 7, 1967. She is survived by her husband of 42 ½ years, Stewart; her daughter, Shellee, of Belding; and her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Kris of Grand Rapids. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara, of Greenville, sisters, Debra TerHaar of Lakeview and Crissy Ransom of Jeffersonville, IN; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Avis Jensen of Sheridan; as well as five nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many dear, dear friends. Judy was the owner of Forever Fabrics in Greenville and loved sharing projects and ideas with many customers and friends. She loved quilting, gardening, and camping, and was known to be able to put one more thing in the arrangements or displays that she made. She was also known for her humor, good sense, and laughter. She was a member of the Greenville East Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and loved to tell others about the hope that the Bible held out for the future, especially regarding no more death and pain. Her favorite Scripture passage was Revelation 21:4: "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Judy will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her family would like to thank In House Hospice for the care that they provided. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 2:00 PM at the Belding Middle School (410 Ionia St., Belding, MI 48809). Memorial contributions may be made to the East Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Judy's honor.

Dear Stewart,Shelly, and Barb, It truly saddens our hearts to hear the loss of someone so dear. How we long for the day when the sting of death is no longer here and Jehovah can make a reply to the one taunting him. What a joy it will be to welcome back those whom we have lost. May the God of all comfort, comfort you and hold you close to his heart.(2Cor 1:3,4) Know that you are in our thoughts, hearts, and prayers. Love the Phillips family

Judy is one of the happiest, most positive person I have had the joy of meeting. She always brought sunshine and comfort in her smile and laugh and encouraging ways. Earth has lost a wonderful person but Heaven has gained a true delight. We will miss her and think of her often.

A true inspiration, and one I will miss very much. Every time I walked into the store, it was, "Oh, it's just Bev!" or "What do you get yourself into now!?" Her sense of humor was just a delight to me - the love of her family and friends, truly a blessing. So glad she is at peace now. Thank u for continuing her dream, so mine can continue!

I was so sorry to hear of your Mother's and wife's passing. I truly enjoyed coming into the store and talking to her. I had no idea of her illness, so this is a total shock to me. Losing one's loved one is never easy. May God be with you as she is with him in peace and happiness forever. God Bless you.

Stewart, Shellee, Jeremy my mom and dad and myself are greatly shocked. We did not know of her illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We come from Holland every so often to visit the store and the wonderful people there. Judy helped me with so many ideas for quliting. I loved her upbeat, and super friendly personality. She was the sunshine of our day when we came to the store. I remember I had just started quilting last year and I took a bus trip to the Chicago quilt show. After being there a couple of hours I heard this lady down the aisle saying " Hey Dawn from Holland how are you? Hope you are enjoying your trip!" I had only known her for such a short time but every time I seen her she was that breath of spring fresh air and to remember me from only visiting the store a couple of times WHAT A SPECIAL LADY!! She will be deeply missed by us! Again our thought and prayers are with you during this trying time. she will never be forgotten.

Judy had a constant laugh which made her eyes disappear and always made others smile. I mistakenly typed her name as "Jucy" and the name stuck. Judy then endearingly referred to me as "Weazer." Always a dear friend, always a help, always a positive soul. The world has been a better place because of Judy Jensen.

Judy always made me laugh. Since I do NOT like cats, she always, with a twinkle in her eye, pointed out the new cat fabrics in the quilt shop when I'd come in - ugh! She even had Stu in on the act, meowing when I'd come close to their vendor booth at local quilt shows! She gave me a CAT charm, which I still have on my key chain and will always treasure as a wonderful memory of her sense of humor. With deepest sympathy, Shellee and Stu, in your loss.
