ACKERSON- Donald Dean Ackerson, 72, of Greenville, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at his home. He was born February 11, 1938 in Palo to Glen and Iva (Gates) Ackerson. Don was a truck driver for many years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Adabel (Holliday) Ackerson; four sons, Rick (Cathy), Randy (Mariann), Ray (Sarah), and Roger (Nancy) Ackerson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Van Ocker; brothers, Ed (Mary) and Jim (Karen) Ackerson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles (Sharon) Holliday, Pearl Tingley, Wilma Ackerson, Betty Ackerson, and Charlotte Holliday; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bill Christiansen. Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glen and Louie Ackerson; and sister, Lorraine. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Hope Lutheran Church (4741 Stanton Rd., Stanton) with a luncheon to follow at Cowden Lake Christian Church in Coral. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of one's choice.

My thoughts and prayers are with Adabelle and all the boys. Don was a great neighbor all the while I lived on Backus Road. I'm sure he will be missed.
