1924 - 2010
Betty Louise Sowards, 85 of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 at home. She was born April 11, 1924 in Ona, WV to the late Clyde and Maggie Legg Martin. She was also preceded in death by six brothers Howard, Walter, John, Clarence, Wilmont and Ernie Martin; three sisters Gertrude Hayes, Ollie Thornton and Loraine "Sis" Ferrell. She is survived by her husband Thomas E. Sowards; four children Tommy Sowards of Proctorville, Ohio; Brenda (Jim) Mann of Proctorville, Ohio; Connie (Steve) Thomas of Newark, Delaware and Paul (Sherri) Sowards of Proctorville, Ohio; grandson Spencer Thomas; granddaughter Brittney Sowards; step granddaughter Krista (Adam) Brown and step great granddaughter Addison. She was a Charter member of the V.F.W. Post 6878 Ladies Auxiliary in Proctorville, Ohio and attended Finley Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Rev. Paul Jordan. Visitation will be conducted 6 to 9 pm Monday, March 1, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. hey guys thanks so much yeah it was hard i miss my grandma betty sowards so much . she was my world and my heart and soul she will always be in our hearts . she was the best grandmother i ever had and she is now my guardian angel i love you grandma betty i miss u so much :(
