I am truly sorry for the loss of Chockie. My mother was a first cousin to Chockie. Her dad was Joseph Edward Nolen from Honey Island. I enjoyed sitting at times and talking with him about the old days and Nolen clan. One thing I remember most we were at an old timers roping in Lumberton one Sunday afternoon and it's was Chockie's turn to heel a steer. The header roped and turn the steer and here comes Chockie ready to scoop up the heels.About that time his little horse started bucking right along behind the header. Of course he was not able to rope while hanging on for dear life. The anouncer lady can on and said there would be no time for the roping ,but she gave him a 78 on the ride. everyone cracked up. I just wished I could have had more time learing the things he had to say. The whole family will be in our prayers. Terry and Linda Holmes

To our ICU family - our thoughts and prayers are with you. I know Jack had the honor of meeting Chockie years back and he thought he was such a neat man. I am so thankful I had the privilege of getting to meet Chockie when I did. Even in ICU I could tell what a fun person he was and what a fighter he was! The angels in Heaven (including mom) are there to take care of him now and Chockie will now be watching over all of you! He was obviously loved by so many. Peace be with you.
