Steven Thomas Ida, 64, of Harrison, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor. He was born January 9, 1946 in Grand Rapids, the son of Alfred and Doris (Michaels) Ida. He was a proud veteran, having served his country in the United States Army. For 35 years he was a General Motors employee in Grand Rapids. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fishing, and cutting wood. He especially loved his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Ida. Steven is survived by his loving wife, Connie, whom he married on December 28, 2002 in St. Johns. He is also survived by his children, Tracie (Mike) Kelava of Allendale, Ryan Ida of Columbus, OH, Bob Husted of Crystal, Allen (Robin) Husted of Ionia, Chris Husted of Lansing, and Michelle (Matt) Perry of Lakeview; three grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; his siblings, Mary (Glen) Rummeler of Wisconsin, Sue Ida of Grand Rapids, Bruce Ida of Grand Rapids, and David Ida of Rockford; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 20 at 1:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with Rev. Lee Welker of Gethsemane Lutheran Church officiating. Memorial contributions in Steven's honor may be given to the American Lung Association.
