I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Thomas' passing. I had never met Mr. Thomas or "Walt" as the kids called him, but I was thankful when he came along as our bus driver. He was always on time and my children really liked him. So, I pass along our condolences to his family. The White's on Wolfe Creek.

Jan, I'm so glad I was able to see both of you one more time a few weeks back. Buddy was hurting a lot then and now he is safe at home and at peace. You and Buddy were always so good to me and we shared a lot of good laughs and great memories. Love you all and wish so much I could have been there with you this week. I'll see you again soon. Walter W. "Buddy" Thomas, 72 of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born October 8, 1937 to the late Marvin Lial and Thelma Veronica Thomas. He was also preceded in death by two sisters Carrie Perez and Betty L. Thomas; one brother Marvin L. Thomas; grandsons Andrew Thomas and Michael Locascio. He was a Marine Corps veteran and former employee of Huntington Publishing Company and Frito Lay. He was also a former Fairland High School Bus Driver. He is survived by his wife of 49 years in June, Janice Workman Thomas; two sons Walter, Jr. (Robin) Thomas of Proctorville, Oh; Raymond Lial Thomas of Proctorville, Oh; one daughter Veronica Rose Locascio of Athens, Oh; raised granddaughters Summer Rose Locascio and Tabitha Danielle Locascio; granddaughters Lindsey Brooke Thomas; Meagan Renee Thomas; Hannah Thomas; grandson Justin Kory Thomas; four sisters Delores Kirk of Huntington, WV; Lillian Hainer of Chapmanville, WV; Ruth Kelley of Nevada; Ollie Coaker of Tampa, Fl and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Proctorville, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday April 2, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Jeff Black. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery. Visitation will be conducted 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday April 1, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Proctorville VFW Post #6878 will conduct military graveside rites.
