Sarah and family, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your husband. I knew him through Healthy Huntington and cannot tell you how much he meant to that organization. He was my father's (Tom Dannals) "right hand man" and always gave so freely and generously of his time. He will be missed by so many. Please know that you and your family will remain in our prayers. It is my hope that this will bring you some comfort during such a difficult time.

I never ran into Roger that he didn't ask about my son, Mark, who he coached in Little League years ago. He was a good, faithful and fair coach. I will miss seeing him run all over town.

Roger's love of life, his broad smile, dedication, concern for and service to others will always be remembered and very much missed. His tireless work and commitment to the Marshall Marathon and Tri-State Triathlon to serve the other runners and make sure it was the best it could be was an inspiration to the whole committee. He is loved and his passionate contributions will be sorely missed by our little "marathon committee family". Sarah, I am so sorry for your loss, your family's loss and our community's loss. My love goes out to you and wish you strength in the treasured memories of Roger.

Roger was the greatest. He was a great ambassador for physical fitness, but just genuinely a caring person. His assistance with the spaghetti dinner at Fatima was very impressive and greatly appreciated by Patty and I. We will truly miss him. I am sorry that Patty and I are unable to be there in person tonight. We are both out of town. Our prayers are with you. Jack Steel

Sarah and family: I met you Sarah when you and Roger were eating at W. Tenampa while Roger was recuperating from heel surgery. When I went by the P.O. today I was stunned by the announcement on the door. I always enjoyed hearing about his trips to 'Runs' and your vacations. I helped name Tripod and loved hearing about your cats and your love for MU's women's basketball team. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May you be held in the hollow of God's Hands.

I am at a loss to have the means of stating how sorry I am about Roger's untimely passing. He was truly, truly one of the good guys. In fact, people like Roger are vital in order to just have a sense that there are quality folks around who make a real difference by just being there. It was my distinct pleasure to have worked for him and to have known him. I will hope for the family's best possible recovery. Obviously, I invite Sarah, Butch, and any others of them to call on me for any assistance that comes to mind.
