1921 - 2010
LILLIAN MARIE KEENEY, 88, of Chesapeake, Ohio went to be with the Lord June 9, 2010 at Heartland of Riverview. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm Sunday June 13, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Don Irby. Burial will follow in Getaway United Methodist Cemetery, Getaway, Ohio. Lillian was born November 26, 1921 in Pecks Mill, WV, daughter of the late Cecil White and Hattie White Ellis. She was a devoted member of Abundant Life Baptist Church where she served in the childrens nursery. Lillian was a quiet, humble and yet very strong and courageous person whose life was marked by her love and complete devotion to family. The following words from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 will be a constant reminder of her life with us: Charity (love) suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things; believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. She was the golden thread that kept her family united and focused on the things that are truly important in life. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Everette Keeney and one brother, Robert White. She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Bernard and Garnet Keeney; Leland and Judy Keeney; Homer and Helen Keeney; Larry and Peggy Keeney; and Ron and Janie Keeney all of Chesapeake; four daughters and sons in law, Lucille and Allan Collins of Houston, Texas; Naomi and David Johnson of Falls Church, Virginia; Loretta and Tom Claytor of Chesapeake; and Brenda and Charles Maxey of Chesapeake; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm Saturday June 12, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home, 625 State Route 775, Proctorville. The family would like to give special thanks to all of the staff at Heartland of Riverview, South Point for their compassionate care. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemeory.com/hall.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will remember many good things about Lillian, but the thing I will remember most, is the morning I walked into her room, her eyes were closed and I said her name. She said "what", while her eyes were closed. I said, "my son was saved last night." I've never seen her eyes open so big, and she had a smile that only an angel would have. I'm glad that I was lucky enough to know your mother. GOD bless all of you.
