
Robert D. Pike, age 50, entered into rest at Memorial Health Systems in Lufkin, Texas, on July 28, 2010. He was born September 17, 1959, in San Augustine, Texas, to Carl Simpson Pike and Bennie Faye (Dickerson) Pike.
He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for W.R. Boyd Construction, F.R. Lewis Construction, Spivey Construction and Jack Alexander Construction. He had also worked as an electrician. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed doing so with his family and many friends.
He is survived by his son Robert Pike Jr. of San Augustine; mother Bennie Faye Pike of San Augustine; sisters Ruth Langford of Nacogdoches, Barbara Moore and husband Gary of San Augustine, Eileen Rigsby and Ray Griffin of San Augustine; grandchildren Robert Pike III and Evelyn Victoria Pike; stepchildren Kathy Easley, Jennifer Easley Sonny Easley, George Easley, Samantha Underwood, Dee Smith and B.J. Sunday; along with numerous step-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in the Norwood Community, San Augustine County, with Bro. Melvin Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in Sowell Cemetery in San Augustine County. Pallbearers are James Poindexter, Dave Neff, Josh Pike, Billy Dickerson, Ralph Kingsley and Ned Kingsley. Honorary pallbearers are Shelton Williams, Billy Joe Williams and James Bryant.
