1918 - 2010
Garnet Fern South, 92, of South Point, Ohio passed away at home on Saturday October 2, 2010. Garnet was born February 20, 1918, daughter of the late Lafe and Hattie Louise Bloir Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe C. South, one son, Charles Ray South, daughter-in-law, Nancy South, son-in-law, Dale L. Hall, and brother, Billie Bob Collins. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Jo Hall of Chesapeake, OH, Phyllis (Gene) Bias of South Point, OH, and Peggy South of South Point, OH; one son, Jim South of South Point, OH; grandchildren, Mary (Cliff) South, Chuck (Dee) South, Larry South, Greg (Charlene) Bias, Cynthia (Ron) Woody, Gary (Brittney) Bias, Dana L. (Ralph) Petroff, Darren (Vera) Hall, Stephanie (Jason) Porter, and Chris (Jennifer) Simpkins; 11 great grandchildren; and one special nephew, Danny Joe Collins. Garnet was a member of the Solida Baptist Church. There will be no visitation with private family graveside services. Burial will be in South Cemetery.
