Norma, Cindy & Sonny: Just a note to let you know that you are loved and my heart breaks for you. I am so sorry I couldn't make it to the funeral. I remember what a joker he was he always kept us laughing. Mr. Spears can't see to get on the internet so I told him and he was crushed. He also wants to extend his condolences. If you need anything, please call. Love you all, Paula & Harold

I was blessed to meet Danny and Norma when I was a young child and think of them as family. For over forty years I have enjoyed learning important life skills from both of them that I am now trying to pass on to my children and granddaughter.
When I think of Danny, I immediately think of fishing and nature. We all would go on fishing trips, motorcycling on the beach, target practice, or just outside to sit in the shade and talk.
I have so many memories and happy thoughts and not enough space to write them all, but here are a few:
A true gentleman that stood up when a woman walked into the room,
A strong man that wasnt afraid to kiss his son in public because he loved him much more than a handshake,
A faithful man that thanked God for his dinner and Norma Jean for preparing it,
A wise man that taught kids not to take candy from strangers,
A safe man who taught gun safety and speed control,
A caring man who was a good listener,
A generous man who feed and sheltered animals in need,
The list goes on in all of our hearts, but let us also remember the sparkle in his eyes and his smile when he laughed. I loved my Danny and he will always live on in my heart.

Norma,
First, I'm sorry for your loss. We all know Danny is in a better place, but, selfishly I wish he were still here. I wanted you to know that Danny taught me how to be a better parent. Both of you did, probably without knowing it. While most adults were saying no and be careful, you handed us car keys or loaded guns. How cool was that! The important part is that you let us "play bigger" and learn to respect things that might hurt us later. I still do this with a select group of kids today. As a tribute to Danny, I spent the day with a good friends 7 year old going 5 miles/hour on the back of a four-wheeler. At that speed, you have a lot of time to think. If Danny hadn't taken the time with me 35 years ago, I might not have coached kids for 6+ years or helped wreck numerous toys that you can drive, shoot, or ride. I can't promise the next generation will continue the tradition, but, I can promise you that you both helped me be who I am today. I love you both. Scott

Norma, we love you and please know that you are in our prayers. I have always been inspired by your commitment to Danny. You are truly an angel on this earth. We have so many fond memories of Danny. I will always look at Werther's candy and think of Danny and smile. The relationship that Danny had with Scott has shaped into the man he is today. And for this we are so grateful. We Love You.

Hi Norma, Cindy, & Sonny,
We currently live 4 hrs. away, but I read the Ironton newspaper on-line daily. I see that Danny has graduated to his Eternal Life. I will be praying for you all as you make this difficult adjustment. I pray that God will hold you tight and bring you that special peace, that only He can give. I have many fun Charlie Creek memories of your family!! Bless you!

Danny and his family were a very large part of my childhood. He was a very special man who was always loving, and kind, and always had a special smile on his face. Family, good friends and fishing were the love of his life. He will be dearly missed, but never will the memories he made with us be forgotten..Everyone's lives he touched came to love him. How special of a gift he was to all of us.

So sorry for your loss. I will always fondly remember Danny for stocking Alfred's lake with crappie and for being the prankster that moved/removed political signs from my grandparent's front yard! He will be missed......
