Alfred Maywood ChildersAlfred Maywood Childers, 73, of Proctorville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 24, 2010 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. He was born April 19, 1937 in Huntington, WV. to the late Rupert Maywood and Evelyn Joplin Childers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Cara Beth Webb. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Anne Mannon Childers; six children Karen (David) Livingston, Michael Childers, Nancy Webb, Tommy (Mysti) Childers, Todd (Christie) Kincaid and Cheri (Phillip) Hutchison; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers Albert (Brenda) Childers, Donald (Grace) Childers and Ronald Childers; several nieces and nephews; three special friends Henry Runyon, Wayne Graham and Norman Fulks; a loving and caring Doctor Dr. Scott Davis. Alfred retired from General Electric. He was a member of Sanctuary of Grace Church. He was an Army and Navy Veteran. He participated in various volunteer activities. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Todd Kincaid. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

My heart is aching for your entire family. Knowing he is now with Grandma and Grandpa and my mom makes it a little easier to cope, one day we will all be a family in one place again. God bless you all and grant you his peace that will surpass all understanding.
