"Miss Lucy" was my favorite school teacher. I'll always remember her attending the "mother/daughter" banquet at school with me since my mother could not attend due to work schedule. I'll also always remember her as a good neighbor and having a kind, gentle spirit. She was a special lady with a special smile. God's peace be with your family at this time.

We are very sorry to hear of Lucy's death and are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. We remember her so very well on the occasion when the Leonard family gathered to exchange genealogical information and to visit various cemeteries several years ago, which was a very memorable day.

Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your mother. She was my 5th grade teacher in 1958 and I have always remembered her with gratitude and fondness. She was so nice to me and my brother, Mickey, and we will never forget her.

Mrs. Lucy was one of the best teachers that ever taught at Rameur school. She had a heart of gold and was so kind to everyone. You have the thoughts and prayers of the entire Jessup family.

Cynthia and Gerry - I know you probably don't know me, but I had the privilege of being one of "Ms. Lucy's" former students, both in 7th and 8th grade at Ramseur School. What a treasure! She was my all time most favorite teacher. I had lost track of her in recent years, wondering if she was still living, and would have loved to have visited her in the nursing care home had I known she was there. She was one of the most honest,loving and caring people I have ever known - loved by all. I have thought of her a lot in recent years, especially since I have been employed in a school environment as a NCWise Attendance Data Manager in a nearby county. I remember how proud she was of both of you, speaking often about you and your accomplishments in the classroom. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families at this time as you say "good bye" on this earth to such a special lady! Treasure the memories!
