Helen attended our wedding back in 1964. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and wish we had stayed in touch. God be with the family. So many memories of our visits to Huntington. I named my daughter Kathryn Veronica after aunt Kate, because I knew she never had any children. She does have a namesake. Frannie (Rake) Engle

I wish to express my sympathy to all of Helen's family. I am a distant relative who remembers going to a family reunion at Helen's house as a teen. I remember playing games, (maybe pool?) in the house in front of their home with a few boy cousins that I had just met for the first time. I believe there was a girl named Kathy that was there with her guitar. Dad (Chuck Rake) got her autograph, so that "when she became big he would already have it". ;) Fun times there. I'm not sure how Kathy was related, but may be her daughter. May you be comforted in knowing that we have fiond memories of times we had together. Blessings on you all, as you are reminded of the good times and memories of Helen and her family,as we have had.

To all of Helen's children:The children and widow of your mother's cousin,Charles E.Rake, are deeply sorry of the passing of your beautiful mother! The last time we saw her was Aunt Margaret White's funeral. We all were just talking about her yesterday and the family reunion at your parents home in Chesapeake many years ago.We especially remembered Kathleen playing the guitar;what a gorgeous dark haired beauty!I asked my sister,Emily, why did you think of that today and she didn't know.I said we have to find out and cousin Dick in Hawaii, told us your Mother died on Feb.2.We didn't know this until late last night or we would have been at her service!May God be with you and bless your families!Love,Cousin Susan
