Brenda Gail Dingus, 67, of South Point, Ohio passed away Saturday February 19, 2011 in Sunset Nursing Center Ironton, Ohio. She was born October 3, 1943 in Huntington, WV. She was preceded in death by her father Carl Ruggles Jr.; and a brother Carl Jr. Ruggles. She was a member of Fayette #2 Fire Department Auxiliary and a member of Sunrise Nazarene Church. She is survived by her mother Lillian Ruggles of Chesapeake, Ohio; husband Jay Dingus; two sons Greg (Jacquie) Dingus of Chesapeake, Ohio and Joey (Sherry) Dingus of Chesapeake, Ohio; one daughter Christy Allen of South Point, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers Roy Lee Ruggles, Don Ruggles, and Roger (Joann) Ruggles all of Chesapeake, Ohio; three sisters Boots Hunter of Chesapeake, Ohio, Shelby (Ken) Hughes of Proctorville, and Carlene Pine of Chesapeake, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 23, 2011 at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Bryan Chaffins. Burial will follow in Getaway Cemetery Chesapeake, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday February 22, 2011 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Jay, Christy, Joey, and Greg - I loved Brenda like a Mom! I didn't get to spend as much as time as I would have liked to with you all but what time I did, I treasure! There are SO many memories of good times, alot of laughs, and LONG talks. Brenda always had time for us and loved us dearly! There was many times we would lay across her bed and talk for hours it seemed. Although time and distance may have seperated us, how much I loved her and thought of her never changed! I love you all!

I love you so much Mamaw Brenda. I'll always remember laying in bed with you while we rubbed each others back or feet. And then Sunday mornings getting up for church. And I will never forget all of the years that we spent time with each other at the beach and how you would get up so early to walk the beach with Papaw Jay to look for seashells....(you always said the best ones were found in the morning). The past couple of days have been rough because it seems like we have lost you twice. Please help us all pull through as we go through this and help us remember that you're in a better place without any pain and that your looking down on us. I know that we will see you again but it's so hard without you hear. Just knowing that I can't drive to the nursing home to sit with you and tell you that I love you. I love you and will miss you so much!

Deepest sympathy to the entire family. Brenda will always hold a special place in my heart as my "second" mom. I spent more time at Brenda & Jay's house growing up with Christy than I did at my own. She was always so good to me and was so much fun to be around. Rest in peace sweet Brenda. I will always treasure all the great memories.

To the Dingus family, Brenda was a patient @ Pulley's when my mother first went there in 2003, and I can see them walking the halls together many, many times. Mother passed away in 06 but that is one of the memories that stand out. I later saw Brenda at Sunset when my father was there as a patient. Hang on to your precious memories.
