Charles R. Mays, 76, of Ironton, Ohio formerly of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at The Gables Nursing Home in Marysville, Ohio. He was born June 21, 1934 in South Point, Ohio son of the late Charles G. and Mary Smith Mays. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years Betty in 2006 and one sister Mary Varner. He is survived by his children Maudella (Richard) Nixon of Marysville, Ohio, Rabert (Sheila) Fulks of Barboursville, WV, Marc (Barbara) Mays of Columbus, Ohio and Marti (Leslie) McClure of Ironton, Ohio; grandchildren Michelle (Chad) Worstell, Kevin Nixon, Betty (Doug) Lassiter, Josie (Jason) Cutler, Lisa (Brady) Simpson, Amy (Olen) York, Christopher (Amanda) Fulks, Max and Molly Mays, and many great grandchildren. He was a retired Contractor. Funeral services will be conducted 12 p.m. noon Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Mike Smith. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio.
