John Calvin Short, 78, of Crown City, Ohio passed away Thursday June 9, 2011 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born December 9, 1932 in Miller, Ohio, son of the late Lewis Allen and Ethel Mae Petrie Short. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Billy Short; two brothers Carl Short and Junior Short; and three sisters Theda Burcham, Ellen Hagley, and Joann Short. He is survived by one daughter Jennifer Phillips; one brother Tommy Short; three sisters Juanita Bias, Lillian Dennison, and Faye McClure; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday June 13, 2011 at Hall Funeral Home by Rev. Eddie Salmons. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens Miller, Ohio.
