James Donzel "Don" Wilson, 82, of Proctorville, OH passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born April 6, 1929 in Braxton County, WV son of the late Worthy L. and Macel M. Utt Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Ardath; children Brett Lee (Gail) Wilson, Brenda L. (David) Massie and COL. Larie J. (Tracey) Wilson; grandchildren Kristina M. Clay, Jennifer L. Wilson (Jeremy), Brittney A. Wilson, Ethan L. Wilson (Jessica), Jamie L. Wilson, SPC Robert W. Wilson and Sarah T. Wilson; great grandchildren Branden L. Cole and Cheyenne N. Wilson; brother Laco Wilson of Tiffin, OH; sister Pauline Waldeck of Braxton Co., WV; brothers and sisters-in-law Jim and Carol Lee of Idaho and Richard and Virginia Distel of Tiffin, OH; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his Church family at New Hope United Methodist Church, Proctorville, OH; and good neighbors Pete and Art. He was in the U.S. Army 1951-1953 and served in the Korean War. He was a former truck driver with various companies in WV before retiring in 1991. Don was a gifted woodworker who provided much enjoyment with the gifts of his talents he provided to so many. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, OH by Pastor Dwayne Shugert. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, OH. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, OH. Memorial donations may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund.
