bbby hawthorne- what can i say! first time i met bobby was about 1959 at sunday school at union church. bobby's uncle jim brought him to sunday school every sunday. we became friends. we were about 6 or 7. who ever knew what childhood friendship would grow from that. as we grew it seemed sundays weren't enough, we found ourselves walking nearly 5 miles to see each other on saturdays. then during summer we were in the creek swimming, fishing, camping out having the time of our life. we grew up together , setting tobacco and taking in hay for $1 and hour. we even stole gas for bobby's old black and white 1952 ford that oscar gave him. i had the drivers license and bobby had the car. i have been asked several times in my life- how does anyone know who your real friends are? i always when you run into a friend you haven't seen in years and you can sit down and start talking just like you left the day before then you know. that's how it was with me and bobby. i can't imagine my childhood life without bobby hawthorne in it. i loved that man and sometimes even more than my own brothers. i'm now 64 and what can i say? thanks to you bobby for all my book of memorys. your friend roger bragg

Sending my condolences to your family. I barely remember meeting Bobby, but remember my dad, Louie, talking so kindly of him. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

We have had the privilege of knowing Bobby for the last two years, and we really enjoyed talking to Bobby and getting to know him. My wife and I do not have a whole lot of friends that we talk to, and we are usually shy around people, but not around Bobby. He was one of our few truly valued friends. We will really miss him, and we wish you all the best, you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
