Rev. Dr. James A. Hayes Rev. Dr. James A. Hayes of Louisa, KY went to be with his Lord on Wednesday April 25, 2012 following a brief illness.

Rev. Hayes was born December 29, 1931 at Georges Creek, Kentucky the son of the late Farris and Nova Stambaugh Hayes. His first wife, Frankie Thompson Hayes died in 1988.

He was an ordained Free Will Baptist minister since 1955 and served the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church as pastor for 25 years, stepping down in 1997. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.

His second wife, Wanda Miller Hayes, whom he married in 1989, survives him. Also, three children, Priscilla Faye Hayes of Louisa, Kentucky, James A. Hayes II of Columbus, Ohio and William F. Hayes of Galena, Ohio. Four stepchildren, Michael Miller of Lexington, Kentucky, Nicola Nelson and James E. Miller of Louisa, Kentucky, and Richard A. Miller of Fallsburg, Kentucky. Seven grandchildren, five step grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.

Three brothers, Bert and Earl D. Hayes of Louisa, Kentucky and Fred Hayes of Smyrna, Georgia. One sister, Ruby VanHoose of River, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by two sisters Edath M. Conley and Roberta VanHoose.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday April 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Gene Hayes and Rev. Jim Bevins officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Pinehill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday at the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church.

The Hayes family has meant a lot to our family. It still does. From Dave Al Hayes through Bill, the Hayes preachers have always been a blessing to us all. We have not lost him-we know where to find him. God give you peace and comfort until we all meet again. Much love to you all.
