Bernard Lewis "Bernie" Hamlin, Jr., 71, of South Point, Ohio passed away Thursday June 21, 2012 in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born November 17, 1940 in Huntington, WV to the late Bernard Sr. and Alice Church Hamlin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three children William Bernard Millard Hamlin, Richard Dwayne Hamlin, and Debra Sorrell; wife Dreama Cains; two stepchildren, James S. Means, and Joseph S. Means; and one sister Patricia Conn. He is survived by two children Alice Madylene (Robert) Hamlin Parsons and Terri Jean (John) Krizan; ten grandchildren Nathan Parsons, Christina Parsons, Valen Hamlin, JT Krizan, Elizabeth Hamlin, J.T. Hamlin, Jimmy Hamlin, J.D. Hamlin, Crystal Hamlin, and Joseph Hamlin; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers Owen (Judy) Hamlin and Larry Dale Hamlin; one sister Karen (Gerald) Byrd-Hopper; brother-in-law Ray Conn; step children Dewana (Dee) Chapman, David Means and Jennifer Means; and several nieces and nephews that loved him very much. The family extends a special thank you to Janet Hanshaw for all the support and care given to our father. Funeral service will be conducted 1 pm. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Rev. Steve Kuntzman. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio.
