Alan Mark Bristol age 70 of Gowen passed away Monday July 9, 2012 at Metron of Greenville. He was born in Greenville on November 11, 1941 the son of Hugh G. and Marian G. Peck Bristol Sr.
Al was a retiree of Steelcase Corporation with many years of service. He was a graduate of Greenville High School with the class of 1960, a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and loved to hunt and fish, especially with his brothers. He was married in Grand Rapids on November 25, 1989 to Sylvia A. Goretzka and was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard G. Bristol.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia, his brothers; Hugh G. (Sue) Bristol Jr. of Gowen, Jerry G. (Carol Ann) Bristol of Gowen, mother in law, Mary Goretzka of Wyoming, sisters in law and brothers in law, Patricia (Clifford) Reed of Stanwood, Catherine Tassell of Grand Rapids, Michael Goretzka of Wyoming and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral and committal services will be held at Hurst Funeral Home on Thursday July 12 at 4 PM with Rev. Father Mike Cilibraise from St. Charles Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Mills Cemetery, Gowen. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice.
