1928 - 2012
 Garrett Eugene Hayes, 84, of Proctorville, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at home with his daughters and family by his side. He was born June 14, 1928 in Milton, WV son of the late Earl and Gertrude Martin Hayes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Spears Hayes; and one brother Oscar "Tud" Hayes. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Patricia and Bobby Boggs and Dianna and Victor Bragg both of Proctorville, Ohio; four granddaughters and their spouses Valerie and Jerry Blake of Huntington, WV, Tracy and John Lange of Proctorville, Ohio, Kimberly and Curtis Watts of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Tina and Anthony Watts of Proctorville, Ohio; two grandsons Keith and Shanna Boggs of Proctorville, Ohio and Gary Boggs of St. Louis, MO; 12 great grandchildren; four brothers James "Skip" and Marcella Hayes, Harry "Pete" and Rachael Hayes, Jerry and Carol Hayes, Dennis and Mary Ann Hayes all of Proctorville, Ohio; one sister Reba Crawford of Ypsilanti, MI; one sister-in-law Francis Hayes of Chesapeake, Ohio; and a host of family and friends. Garrett retired from Viking Glass Company. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Gordon Simpson and Rev. Eddie Salmons. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Hospice of Huntington. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

So sorry to hear about your dad, mine passed away this past November so I know how difficult this time is. My dad is also with his heavenly father, so you can take comfort in that. You have a large family and you can lean on each other, my prayers are with you and your family.

Gary,
I was very sorry to learn about your grandfather's passing. I don't think these words are adequate, but I want you to know you have my heartfelt sympathy.
I had the privilege to meet your grandfather on a couple of occasions and from all the wonderful things you told me over the years, I know he was a very special person. I know you were very proud of him and that he was a good and loving person.
