Funeral services for Johnny E. Husbands Jr, 75, of Lumberton will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Loeb with interment following in Trout Creek Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Brother Mark Smith will conduct the services. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 Wednesday morning at the church.
Mr. Husbands passed to a better life on July 29, 2012.
He was born June 3, 1937 to Johnny Husbands Sr. and Culie Bean Husbands in Call, TX. Johnny grew up in Kirbyville. He worked at DuPont for 24 years until his health caused him to retire. On April 8, 2002, he had a heart transplant at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Johnny leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Cliffie Lynch Husbands of Lumberton; a son Terry Husbands and wife Dorrita of Lumberton; daughters Debbie Hale and husband Jeff of Phoenix, AZ and Kayla Dickerson of Lumberton; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother Mike Husbands and wife Juanita of Buna; sisters Hazel Lindsey and husband Bill of Beaumont, Elaine Husbands of Jasper and Culie Stott and husband Bernard of Silsbee.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, J V Husbands and O C Husbands.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the music department at First Baptist Church in Loeb.
