Aunt Annabelle was the last of my mother's siblings to pass from earth to heaven, and she meant so much to my family. Her great personality came through each time we came from California to visit her. Even with her years catching up with her, there was a spark and sense of humor that often recalled the old days...and there were 90 years of "old days" she could recall with detail and perspective. But it was her love and dedication to her family that impressed me so much. She longed to be with her daughter Carolyn who passed away as a child, and now they are together. In the most recent years she helped bring her son Vern and I back together through our visits to Texas. And her growing love for the Savior touched all that were in her presence. I will miss those Saturday phone calls, but we shall soon be joined by ALL of our Covington family in that land across the River. She fell asleep, and then awoke in heaven. May we all know the way to that place (John 14:6).

Everything that I am, and all that I have accomplished in this world is a direct result of having been blessed to have "Hootie" as my Mom. She has always been such an inspiration for me and everyone whose lives she has touched. I am so blessed to have had the past 18 months to spend with her here in our beautiful Texas Hill Country. Whenever she would say "I don't want to be a burden," I would remind her that I was quite handfull for her for the first couple of decades of my life! One of my favorite books of all time is a little childrens' tome written by Robert Munch and illustrated by Sheila McGraw titled "Love You Forever." If you have not read it, know that it expresses my feeling so perfectly. Manny and Shushi, thank you for adopting Mom as your Grandmother. Thank you for all that you both did for Her and Owen. I know that she thought the world of you both, and I am so glad that you got to visit with her last weekend. Marilyn, thank you for your kind words. Yes, her wit and optimism helped to make her a favorite among all who come in contact with her. As you mentioned, many, many wonderful memories do indeed keep flooding back with a pleasantly "salty" nourishment. I Love you all, I LOVE YOU MOMMA! Vernon (Momma is getting kind of hard of hearing, so shouting seems appropriate)

We were very fortunate to have been blessed by the lord to know Annabelle. She was the most loving and carrying Grandma. She always used to light up the Dallas Lighthouse For the blind. We will miss her but will always remember that wonderfull smile and words"God bless you and i love you".

Aunt Annabelle (also called "Hootie") was an inspiration to all who knew her. You couldn't help but love her. She was unselfish, witty, had a great memory for detail, never ceased to ask how you were doing, and despite being blind since birth, was accomplished at all of her daily tasks and had many talents. She was a wonderful sister to my Mother, a caring and gracious Aunt to me and to my family, and I just wish I had spent more time with her. Vernon, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that there is no way to really prepare for losing your mother. I hope that you knowing how much she loved you, and you her, will help sustain you during this time, and that many wonderful memories will come flooding back to nourish you. My love to you and Lenore and family. Sincerely, your cousin, Marilyn
