Funeral services for Louise D. Barnes, 84, of Silsbee will be 2:30pm Sunday, December 9, 2012 at R.S. Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30pm until time of service.
Mrs. Barnes died December 4, 2012 at her daughter's residence surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Woodville, Louise had lived in Silsbee since 1948. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active in many civic groups. She retired from the City of Silsbee as an office manager.
Survivors include son David W. Barnes of Bastrop; daughter Deborah McWhorter of Silsbee; four brothers, V.L. Durham of Woodville, Y.G. Durham of Woodville, Elijah Durham of Center and A.T. Durham of Woodville; sister Rosemary Durham of Woodville; four grandchildren Perry Jones, Shelley Jones, Damon Barnes and Dustin Barnes; four great grandchildren Brant Jones, Madelyn Jones, Carley Jones and Christian Jones. Among survivors she leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations may be made to First Methodist Church of Silsbee and the McDounough Hall Building Fund.
