William Darrell Swann, 62, of Proctorville, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born December 6, 1950 in Huntington, WV. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Joyce Swann; daughters Sabrina Simpson and Angela (Mike) Sword; sister Regenia VanDyke; brother Richard Smith; five grandchildren Jonathan, Emily, Catey, Jami and Amanda Simpson; and special friend Hazel Compton. He was preceded in death by his mother Lucille Smith and father Raymond Smith; one brother Scott Smith; sister Vivian Lanham; and son Brian Simpson. He was proud of his service in the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was a faithful employee of Heiners Bakery for 38 years. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Carl Black. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Just simply a GOOD guy....saw him at the VA med center a few months ago and had a great talk....hadnt done that for over thirty years...really made a bad day good...just simply a good guy.
