1966 - 2012

Lynda Jane Smith HarrisLynda Jane Smith Harris, 46, of Proctorville, Ohio departed this life far too soon and entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born October 9, 1966 in Dover, NJ daughter of Sue Smith of Alpharetta, GA and the late Garry Smith. In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband Robert Todd Harris; three sons Robert Todd, Jr. RJ (Mackenzie) Harris of Columbus, Ohio, Joseph Mitchel Harris and Samuel James Harris at home; two grandchildren Landen and Kenlee Jane Harris of Columbus, Ohio; three brothers Daniel (Sage) Smith of Smyrna, GA; David Smith and James Smith of Phoenix, AZ; father-in-law and mother-in-law Bob and Beverly Harris of Chesapeake, Ohio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joe and Amy McCallister of Chesapeake, Ohio; one nephew Garrity Smith of Smyrna, GA; and two nieces Paisley Smith of Smyrna, GA, and Taylor Bane of Chesapeake, Ohio. Lynda was an office manager and nurse at Cabell Pediatrics and Dr. James Bailes whom she considered a wonderful friend. She was an active member of Rome Church of Christ where she could always be counted on to help out with church dinners, showers, youth group activities, and happily treated all of the bumps, bruises and illnesses of the entire congregation. Lynda loved all of her ladies group sisters so very much and will continue to be with them in spirit. She was also a devoted member of the FBC zumba girls, whom she exercised with, laughed with, and shared with for many years. Her presence there will be sadly missed, most of all Lynda will especially be missed by her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who would do anything for her three boys and her grandchildren, always sacrificing her needs for theirs. Funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 by Minister Brad Poe at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

A caring and loving sister to whom I owe so much, I am so proud of her service to others as a nurse, so beloved by her friends, who loved her sons with every ounce of her being. I still miss her, my sister Lynda, every day. Dan 1/26/2015

May God bless you with His strength, peace, and comfort during this difficult time. Lynda has been our children's nurse since they were born, and she was always compassionate and took excellent care of them, and was a passionate advocate of their health care - especially when it came to dealing with insurance companies. We just learned of her passing today, and we are deeply saddened by your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
