Don T. Brady Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1938 - 2012

Don T. BradyDon Tullie Brady, 74, of Kerrville, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, December 29, 2012.

Don was born in Anahuac, Texas to Tullie and Thadlie Brady on February 2, 1938. He graduated from Clinton High School, Clinton, LA, Hinds Junior College, Raymond Ms, and Lamar University, Beaumont, TX and retired, a third generation Entergy employee.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his son John Tullie Brady; and his grandson Bryan Clifton Brady.

Don is survived by his wife, Sarah Brady of Kerrville; his son, Don Milam Brady of Paso Robles, CA; his daughter, Beth Brady of Wimberley, TX; a daughter, Lacey Baker Hewitt; grandchildren, Colter, Laura, Cassidy, and Paris Brady; Elizabeth Hewitt and Layton Patterson; a brother, Glenn Brady, of Clinton, LA; and sisters Ann Brady Holland of Clinton, LA; and Jan Brady St. John of Fredericksburg, VA; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and associates.

Don was an electrical engineer by training and in practice through many years of service with Gulf States Utilities, West Texas Utilities, and , finally, Entergy Corporation from which he retired in 1999.

Don had special feelings for his experiences at Hinds Junior College and the many deep relationships he developed while there. His associations with these circles of players and associates continued after his playing time with gatherings and reunions. The Hinds Eagles were with him until the end!

Don was active in the Episcopal Church in all the geographical areas in which he was called to serve. His special love was the Opera, and church vocal music. The Hill Country Vocal Arts Society was one of his favorite activities.

After retirement, he was active in his service as a substitute teacher. He approached his teaching experiences as ministry opportunities. He treasured the opportunities to share with young people.

Dons special calling, however, was as a Dad and Papa. Uncle Don had and will continue to have a special place in the hearts of the many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a variety of activities which share in the loss by Dons parting; [1] St. Peters Episcopal Church, Kerrville, TX 78028 ; [ 2] Lane Memorial Hospital Foundation- Cancer Projects, Zachary, LA 70791; and [3] DCI Prison Ministries, DCI, Jackson, LA .

I am sorry to hear of Don's passing. I had the privilege to know Don and work with him in the 1990's when he worked as a Coop liason at Entergy. Though we were on opposite sides of the table in negotiations, Don was fair and I respected him for his integrity. I missed him when he moved out of that position at Entergy. I pray you experience God's peace and comfort as you grieve.

Don was a wonderful substitute teacher at Ingram. He built many special relationships with students and staff. I will miss his laugh and his methodology to teaching. He was more than a "sub." He was a true educator. Rest, oh loyal servant.

Sarah, our sympathy to you and family on the loss of your husband Don. Glad I got to meet him and have some good chats at the yoga parties a few years ago. I'm sorry you are having to go through this, and wish you strength. God bless. Juell Brown
