Colton, Caleb, and Nikki, I am so sorry for your loss. Doug and I coached football and basketball together for years. During that time I became good friends with your Father and learned how much he loved you guys. He was a major influence on so many kids lives. My own son, Andrew, always says that Doug was his favorite coach, and he was coached by his Dad and his Grandfather. Doug always showed a compassion for the kids he coached. He taught me valuable lessons about caring more for the kids feelings and making sure they learned the game more than just winning games. He will be missed in this world by all who knew him, but we can rest assured that we will see him on the other side in heaven. Our prayers go out to all of you and your family.

Oh my family, how it hurts to accept this loss!! I wish I was there with you all to give you the biggest hugs to try to comfort you. Doug was a sweet gentle man who will forever love. The light in his eyes when talking to our children will never be forgotten. David can barely speak of this, he is in so much pain. I just wanted to let you all know you are in our constant thoughts and prayers. I hope to hug you all in person soon. Please accept our sincerest condolences and know this loss is heavy in our minds and hearts. We Love You!!

There are just so many things you could say about Doug Lindsey. In the very short time he was here on this earth he had more life in him than anyone I've ever met.He was so animated in everything he ever did. He could make you laugh without even saying a word. All he had to do was give you that ornery little grin and you knew he was about to crack everybody up. Doug was just so real! You always knew what he truly thought about everything and even if you didn't agree with him just knowing that he was so genuine endeared him to you even more. Although Doug grew up in a large extended family I am sure that if you asked each of our family members about a special memory they have we would all have plenty that involve Doug. So Doug on behalf off our entire family I just want to say... Thanks for the memories!

It's with deep regret & sorrow that I learn Doug has passed and moved on, albeit a peaceful place in heaven. After reading his obituary I was touched by hearing about his family and children and his passion for coaching and refereeing as I have a family too and have officiated Football in the NFL and NCAA, so I can relate to his advocations and love for the family. I can remember Doug playing basketball with us in JV and man he seemed to make every shot he took, he had a great feel and touch on the ball. I send my prayers from 500 miles away to the Lindsey family and wish you great strength during these tough times!!! Craig Burd

Nikki, Colton and Caleb. Words cannot express my sincere sorrow that my family feels. As you all know, your late grandpa and I were umpiring partners and your dad and I coaching adversaries. I will miss those times with your dad as I have with your grandpa. Each of you know your all loved and personally know I am here if you ever need something. JUST ASK!
