Mary Elizabeth Corder, 83 of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Saturday January 12, 2013 at St. Marys Medical Center Huntington, WV. She was born May 14, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John Thomas and Valletta Woltz Pyke. She was a member of Big Branch Church. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Melvin J. Corder; daughter Barbara Ann Meadows of Proctorville; three sons John (Rebecca) Corder of Vilas, NC, William (Gisele) Corder of Rock Hill, S.C., and Robert (Rebekah) Corder of Barboursville, WV; 10 grandchildren, Sean, Brett, Alan, Preston, Dee, Joseph Dale, Ryan M., Katherine, Laura, Brian, Benjamin, and Aubrei; three great grandsons Cannon, Sutton, and Aiden. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Randy Henderson. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday January 15, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Mrs. Corder's passing. I met her at the young age of 15, approx. 45 years ago. As a good friend of her children & family, she was always a very sweet & caring women. Exactly, what you would envision a loving Wife and Mother to be ! It was obvious that she truly loved her entire family & was the perfect role model for all of us ! May you be comforted knowing she lived a wonderful life & now lives pain-free in Heaven. Prayers & condolences for Mel, family, and friends. We remember the gas station in Chesapeake, working with Barb on the SEOEMS ambulances, chewing the fat with Mary at the gas station. We comfort ourselves with the knowledge that Mary is now in the place of eternal joy.

Very sorry to hear this news. I will always remember you two working in the Spring Valley Presby and you and Me with the scouts. I guess the last time I saw you was at the reunion of SVP and also seeing Mary at that long ago track meet at Lancaster and the longer ago visits to the farm behind Chesapeak.
One of our sons lives in Asheville, NC.
