Virdan Jay Martin JrVirdan "Jay" Martin Jr, 89, of Kerrville passed away to the Lord's hand on Jan. 13, 2013 at his residence.

He was born April 04, 1923 to Virdan E. Martin Sr and Opal Martin in Alton, IL. Only July 21, 1948, he married Dorothy Ferdaszewski in Hunington Park, CA.

He is survived by wife Dorothy Martin, a loving and devoted wife for 66 years; Anita Pickard, niece and husband Michael of Kerrville; Charolette Trudeau, niece and husband Michael of Corpus Christi; Robert Martin, nephew and wife Gracie of Corpus Christi; Richard Martin, nephew of Corpus Christi; Sharon Hardee, niece of Thousand Oaks, Ca; many great nieces and nephews.

Jay served the Army in World War II and retired from Southern California Gas Company after 40 years. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and spent his retired years building and flying model airplanes.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Wright's Funeral Parlor, Kerrville.
