Leo  EdwardsLeo Edwards, 84, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born August 21, 1928 in Proctorville, Ohio son of the late Forrest and Thelma Villars Edwards. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Dickie Edwards; and two sisters Virginia Tillis and Irene Rowe. He retired from Kraft Foods and Ballards Farms. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War. Leo was a Minister in the area for many years at several Churches. He is survived by his wife Alma Huff Edwards; one son Chuck Edwards of Chesapeake, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law Marilyn and D.L. McWhorter of South Point, Ohio; two grandsons Chase McWhorter and Kobe McWhorter; three sisters Corena Callicoat of Proctorville, Ohio; Sharon Yoczik of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Linda Fraley of Proctorville, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Jane Deeds of Auburndale , Fl and Mary Huff of Wytheville, VA; and his buddy Daisy, his dog. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Jerry Galloway and Pastor Randy Henderson. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery, Willow Wood, Ohio. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

I was so sorry to read about Leos passing,I didnt know until now. I 1st met him when I worked at Chesys & then he came in to Montys Pizza when I worked there. I talked with him 2010, he hadnt changed a bit in all the years I knew him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a VERY SPECIAL MAN OF GOD. Mrs Edwars, Im sorry for your loss.

I will always think of him when setting in church and listening to Borther Randy preach and Leo telling him to go on Preach it son. I loved Leo and he was a special cousin and friend..

Friend...Pastor...All-around good man. Any and all superlatives about character can be said about Leo. The area has lost one of its best. Betcha he's discussing Chesapeake football and basketball with JESUS. Prayers and condolences to Leo's family and other friends.

so sorry for your loss. Leo was a great and wonderful man. He was a great preacher and Marty and I thought the world of him. Marty always spoke highly of him, and he never talked highly of preachers just Leo. He will be missed by all of us. Love and prayers to all of you and God bless.
