Bertie Mae Callaway Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1937 - 2013 Funeral services for Bertie Mae Crawford Callaway, 75, of Spurger will be 2:00 pm Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Franks Branch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Callaway died January 23, 2013 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Camp 11 in Tyler County, Bertie had lived in Spurger most of her life. She worked as Activity Director at Silsbee Convalescent Nursing Home before retiring. Bertie was a long time member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Fred and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Callaway is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ruddle P. 'Port' Callaway and daughter-in-law Sherry Callaway. Survivors include her sons Jimbo Callaway and wife Leona of Fred, Ed Callaway of Jasper and Richard Callaway and wife Melissa of Spurger; daughters Evon Reese and husband Kevin and Theresa Johnson and husband Joe, all of Spurger; brothers Raymond Earl West and John Earl West; sisters Evelyn West and Jo Ellen West; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Bertie was such a sweet little lady and I know will be missed dearly by her family and all who knew her. My prayers go out for the family during this difficult time and in the days ahead.

So many good memories of Bertie & Port. From Silsbee High to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Our condolences to their family, know you are going to miss Bertie but she & Port are together again for all eternity. GOD bless!

Mrs. Bertie was loved by all!! we will miss her hugs on Sunday morning at Church always made time you, we will keep you all in our prayers as we have been, this has been a trying time for all of you these last couple of years I know God will continue to be with each of you in the coming days.

Sorry to hear of your lose. Please read at John 5:28,29 "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a ressurrection of judgement. This is something we all can look forward to if we should pass away in death.
