Pliney Lurlene 'Jackie' Short Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1922 - 2013 Funeral services for Pliney Lurlene 'Jackie' Augustine Short, 90, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Cunningham Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Short died January 30, 2013 at Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home. She was a native of Evadale and lifelong resident of Silsbee. Mrs. Short retired as a nurse form Kountze Memorial Hospital. Survivors include son Mike Augustine and wife Susan of Silsbee; daughter Anne Collins and sister Bonnie Flanakin, both of Silsbee. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

What a wonderful example Jackie was for her children and grandchildren. She served her country,raised her children while working as a nurse and kept a beautiful home and garden. I admired her for her stoic personality,her love of family and her determination . Jackie was never one to hold back her opinion .I liked that about her,she was one strong lady.

Anne, I am so sorry to hear of Jackie's passing.It's funny how certian memories stick out in your mind, and your Mom at Dr.Parker's office is one I can remember..along time ago.Cherrish your memories,may the peace of God be with you and your Family.
