So sorry for your loss. I apologize for the tardiness of this posting but just saw the obit today. Tom Bowen was my all-time favorite teacher. He instilled in me a love of music and a desire to excel in performance which persists even today. He also was a kind and gentle man who made me feel welcome and an important part of something bigger than myself - those late 60's and early 70's SPHS bands were truly remarkable. I have often remembered him fondly.

Tom Bowen's legacy will surely live on in his students. I can't be the only one who now directs a band and has a life filled with music! We mourn his passing. from a South Point student 1970s.

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Your family is in my thoughts at this sad time. Tom was more than a band director to so many of us that passed through Guyan Valley during his time there. He created a family like feeling among us all. The ballgames and competitions that he gave so much of his personal time will always be remembered. May you find peace and trust that God has called home yet another one of his children.

Dear Nancy and Family, My life was greatly blessed by the friendship and fellowship I had with Tom. I remember his wit, his stories, his love for you all, his love for music and his students, and his love for the Lord! Time and miles prevent me from being there today, but rest assured my heart, mind, and prayers are with you today and always as I remember my brother in the Lord Tom as he joins a host of wonderful family and friends and each of you as you carry onward the love and joy Tom brought to us all. May God Be With You Till We Meet Again.... Kerry PS I am sure he'll be singing "Mud River Style" with the heavenly choir he now joins...
