My heart is breaking today. I've known John for 20+ years and he had a way of making you laugh even if you did not want to. I will miss him a great deal.

Kyle and I just found out. He is so heartbroken and I'm very sorry and sad about the loss of this wonderful person. I took care of him at St Mary's and soon found out why Kyle thought so highly of him. Please accept our deepest condolences.

I was a Huntington police officer in the early 70s and John rode with me as a reserve officer.He was a joy to be around.My heart goes out to his family.

Steve and family, So sorry to hear about John. He was a great guy. I often think of his great impressions especially Earnest Angley. We had some great time sitting and talking in the Heart office when he would visit. I also remember many times going on calls with him when he was at Lavalette. I will miss him. What great memories I will always have of John. No matter what, he could make you laugh! I once bought him an airplane Christmas ornament (he loved flying) but never gave it to him but every year when I hang it on my tree, I smile and remember all the great times I had with him. I will continue to put that ornament on every year and will always smile. Love you, John, and I will miss you!

My deepest condolences for a dear friend John Murray. I worked at the Wayne County Tax Dept. in the 80's when I met John. He was a great guy then and a friend and he will surely be missed by all that knew him. God bless his family & friends during this time of their loss.

John Dallas Murray, 61, of Huntington, WV passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born March 30, 1951 in Cabell County, WV son of the late Jim and Louise Dawson Murray. He is survived by his loving companion Linda Carol Carter; two children Steve (Jenny) Murray of Chesapeake, Ohio and Beth Spencer of Proctorville, Ohio; four grandchildren locally; extended family of children and grandchildren in Georgia; one brother Alan Dale Walker of Salt Rock, WV; and numerous friends and family. John was a U.S. Army Veteran and a life member of American Legion Post 16, Huntington, WV. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Jennifer Obermueller. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 16. A reception will follow the service at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 16 421 6th Ave. Huntington, WV. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
