Mrs. McBryde died March 11, 2013 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Aline was preceded in death by her husband, Horace McBryde, father George Ross Iles, mother Myrtle Morrison Iles, sister Annie Maxine Read, brother George Ross Iles Jr., niece Linda Anne Windham and step-son Kenneth McBryde.
She is survived by her great niece and nephew, Jennifer St. Cyr and husband Winston and Chris Windham and wife Patricia; grandson Jason McBryde; step-son David McBryde and wife Diane; great grandson Ethan McBryde; nieces and nephews, Edwin Read, George Iles, David Iles, Becky Iles and Diane Iles along with numerous other great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
Aline never gave birth to any children, yet she was a mother to many. Her door was always open during good times and bad times, with no questions asked. She provided the comfort and stability that her family and friends needed to pull through each of their life's crisis. The greatest of these bonds were with her niece and nephew, Jennifer and Chris Windham for whom she guided with much love and care. She will be missed but her legacy of kindness and strength will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
A native of Merryville LA, Aline was a long time resident of Silsbee. She was born as the Great Depression started and was a teen through WWII. She never accumulated monetary wealth, but never realized it because her treasure was her family and friends.
She was married twice to Horace. After they were married, Horace served in the Navy and separation ended the marriage. When Horace retired from the Navy, they remarried.
Aline worked for Cravens Insurance for 30 years and was voted "1969-1970 Woman of the Year" by the Chamber of Commerce.
After working for many years as an office professional, Aline enjoyed her new role as the wife of a retired Navy man working for NASA at its peak. She also enjoyed new friends, fishing, camping and gardening and her one woman pet dog, Andy.
She had a special way of using her unique sense of humor to lessen tension and get her point across. She personified the teachings of Christ in so many ways. She was accepting of everyone. She gave of herself. She embodied the spirit and deeds of Matthew 25:35-40, helping others in need. She will be missed, but her examples of how to live life will remain with us forever.
