Charles Luther Blumenschein, Jr., 88, of rural Bellefontaine, died at 12:34 AM Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
He was born March 30, 1924, in West Liberty, a son of the late Charles Luther and Viola Elizabeth Stayrook Blumenschein, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a Brother; Gene E. Blumenschein.
He is survived by two Sisters; Eleanor (Donald) Hamburger of Bellefontaine, and Isabel (Russell) Evans of Springfield, and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was a lifelong Farmer, a member of Stony Creek Church of the Brethren, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Miami Valley Post #652, American Legion, De Graff.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Philadelphia Cemetery, Bellefontaine, with Pastor Wayne Downing officiating. There will be no calling hours.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Stony Creek Church or the Gideons International.
