1946 - 2013
Jan Elizabeth Jordan, 66, of Huntington, WV went on to be with the Lord and reunited with her late mother Alma Elizabeth Jordan, and son Johnny Jordan, on Palm Sunday March 24, 2013 at Heritage Center Huntington, WV. She was born August 7, 1946 in New York, NY. Jan was formerly of Petersburg, VA, where she worked as a Cab Dispatcher at Boulevard Cab Company for many years. She previously attended Christ Temple Church Huntington, WV. She auditioned for the Gidget film at a young age in California. She is survived by her husband Charles Alston of almost 19 years; one daughter Tracie Canter of Huntington, WV; four sons Brian Canter of Huntington, WV, Bill (Tina) Jordan of San Antonio, TX, Samuel Brown of Burnsville, WV and Michael Jordan of Springfield, GA; five grandchildren Israel Canter, Renee Dunnings, Crystal Jordan, Jessica Warren, and William Jordan III; seven great grandchildren Damion Pino, Serenity Pino, William Jordan IV, Kayleigh, Allysa, Nicholas and Nathan; and daughter-in-law Eda Dunnings. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Heritage Center staff, Hospice of Huntington, West Virginia Amedysis, St. Marys Medical Center, Cabell Huntington Hospital, Valley Health, and Preferred Home Health Care, and all who visited her with cards and gifts over the last three years. Gifts may be mailed to Brian Canter, PO Box 8015 Huntington, WV 25705. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Community of Grace Church 28th Street and Third Avenue, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church. A pot-luck covered dish dinner will be held following the service at the Church, you may R.S.V.P. her son Brian Canter. I know it has been years since uve seen me....and we didnt get the chance to catch up on life...one day we will meet again....as for the family.....the kids and i send prayers ur way...we also send our love...~jess~
