Wordlow Woody Owens Jr. , 64, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at a his residence in Ingram. He was born on Nov 28, 1948 in Charleston, Mississippi to Wordlow Owens Sr. and Elizabeth (Franklin) Owens. Woody was the manager of the Five Points Chevron in Kerrville for over 20 years. He had a passion for building and repairing cars and trucks. He was always tinkering on a machine or engine. Woody meet Cynthia Steffiey in 2000 and they married on Feb 22, 2003. He made a hobby out of searching for the best places to buy scratch off lottery tickets and had a system to winning. Woody will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and cherished friend.
He was preceded in death by his father and son, Wordlow Woody Owens III.
Woody is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Owens of Ingram; daughter, Denise Owens of Kerrville; mother, Elizabeth Owens of Victoria; siblings, Addie Jung and friend Jerry Blevins of Ingram, Martha Graf and husband Keith of Victoria, Frank Owens of Victoria; grandchildren, Crystal Clendennen and husband Corey of Ft Hood, Maria Reither and husband Jacob of Kerrville, Joseph Anthony Genovesi of Kerrville; great grandchild, Draiden Clendennen of Ft Hood; pets, Buddy (dog), Sable & Jodi (cats), Roberta (hen) and McGee (bird). He will be loved and missed by many other family members and dear friends.
Memorial service will be held 3pm, Sunday, April 07, 2013 at Wrights Funeral Parlor with Chaplain Matthews officiating the service.
