Charles always said that if you made one true friend in a lifetime, you were a rich man. His honorary pallbearers show his wealth. One of them taught him to fly a plane and earn his pilot licenses, and all of them always came to his aid whenever he needed them. Charles cherished these friends and family above all else in this world. He never had nor wanted excess comforts, but anyone who knew the man said that Charles was wealthy beyond most people's understanding.
Charles lived in Silsbee from high school until 2010, where he was an electrician by trade and enjoyed the skill. He loved spending time with his family. He retired in 2010 to the hill country in Boerne, where he enjoyed a peaceful home on Balcones Creek watching wildlife and woodworking. Charles hopes he is remembered well and says, "So long". He was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
