1938 - 2013

Howard  Eckhart HOWARD C. ECKHART, acclaimed Dallas florist, event planner, and businessman passed away 04/01/13. Howard was an exceptionally talented and gifted artist who brought joy, glamor, and the best of design into thousands of individual, social, charitable, and corporate events. His career began over 50 years ago in the family business that was Eckhart Flower Shop in Bandera. Most recently he owned The Party and Event Designers and subsequently lent his expertise and experience to Magic Moments Parties and Events. Mr. Eckhart held the professional designations of CSEP and TMF and served as a mentor to his fellow professionals. He was a strong force within several professional groups including NACE, ISES, and MPI. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from NACE and was recently honored by its establishment of the Howard Eckhart Hall of Fame. Howard was proud to be a descendent of the original Polish settlers of Bandera, TX. He was precessed in death by parents, Howard and Elsie Adamietz Eckhart and a sister and brother, Alice Jane and Charlie Eckhart.

Howard is survived by his sister, Punkie Camp, nieces, Jana Herrera and Stacey Eckhart, nephew, Stan Eckhart, great nieces, Kaia Bakken and Ally Eckhart, and great nephews, Ian and James Bakken. He will be long remembered by his family, friends, industry associates, employees, and all those whose lives he brightened with beautiful weddings and other memorable events "as only Howard" could create.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Altitude at the W Hotel, 2440 Victory Park Lane in Dallas.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera, TX.

The family has requested donations to your favorite charity or to the Bandera County Library, Bandera, TX.

I am sorry to read of your loss. Many have lost loved ones and want to see them again. The Bible actually speaks of a hope at John 5:28,29 which says, "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."May this be of encouragement.
