I want you to know how fortunate I feel to have known James. I was his Math I teacher at HHS, and I realy enjoyed having him in my class. His smile was infectious, and his attitude was great. I feel very blessed that he was part of my world. Your family will continue to be in my prayers.

Richie, Anita I'm so so sorry over James passing. I have knowing Richie & Scott for at least 35+ yrs. and watched them grow into men, & when they had their children I sat back and was watching them grow into young men. My fondest memories of James was when Anita you would take him bike riding and he was in that little seat on the back. You could tell by the smile on his face he just loved it! He was so happy when he was on that bike with his mommy! Anita you spent ALL your free time with him. I also loved when he started walking (lol) he also loved being outdoors!! Anita you two was a hot number (lol) He was so happy when you was with him!! And that smile & red hair made him so adorable! I wish we could turn the clock back & wipe that horrible day away! I will deeply miss him coming home from school each day and seeing him out in the yard & swimming this yr. I will NEVER forget James as long as I live he was one SPECIAL young man. I was hoping to have MANY more memories of him but I know he is with GOD now because he is one of GOD'S CHILDREN & ANGEL!! Please don't think he is gone FOREVER because you will meet again!! May GOD give you & your family strength during these difficult days ahead. My love & prayer's are with you & the family and my heart hurts with you. 3

Though I have never met your son my granddaughter Gia Thomas was a classmate in JROTC and she was greatly sorrowed by his loss. She felt that they were not only classmates but friends. I'm a staff member at Huntington High. I didn't know James, but I have two girls, junior and senior at HHS. I can't even begin to imagine the grief you must be experiencing. James was a great kid! He will be missed by so many people. He was like an older brother to my son, Nathaniel. I think of how handsome James looked on Easter Sunday at Church and that will be a good memory that will always remain with my family. I can honestly say that James was part of a wonderful family. James Richard Christian, 14, of Huntington, WV passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born April 28, 1998 in Huntington, WV son of Richard and Anita Hayton Christian. He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Dorothy Nana Christian; and maternal grandfather James Hayton. He attended Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly Church in Huntington, WV. He was a freshman at Huntington High School, Huntington, WV and a member of the Junior ROTC. In addition to his parents he is survived by his maternal grandmother Ruby Hayton; Goldie Christian who was like his grandmother; paternal grandfather Richard Christian, Sr.; one brother Corey Christian; three uncles Scott (Leslie) Christian, Jason Christian, and Mike (Eugenia) Hayton; special cousins Johnathan Christian, Ashley Spurlock, and Brayden Thacker. Funeral service will be conducted 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly Church 2485 4th Avenue Huntington, WV by Rev. David Viars and Rev. E.S. Harper. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Visitation will be held 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly Church.
