 James E. Sam Turner, 76, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away April 15, 2013 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born September 7, 1936 in Chapmanville, WV son of the late William Edward and Virginia Lucas Turner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Turner; sister and brother-in-law Betty (Michael) Veres, sister and brother-in-law Marion (George) McDonald. He is survived by his wife Karen Drake Turner; daughter and son-in-law Christy and Richard Krejci and two grandsons Alex and Eric Krejci all of Ada, MI; sister-in-law Patricia Turner of Logan, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Marshall University. He worked for and retired from the Huntington office of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. A private family graveside service will be held at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House 3100 Staunton Rd. Huntington, WV. 25702 or the charity of your choice. So very sad to know I won't get to see Sam's wonderful smiling face at Captain D's. Our family has loved him all these years; Bill thought the world of Sam. My prayers and thoughts are with you and Christy, also prayers from Matt & David who remember how good Sam was to them as young boys.
