Nira Maretta Strain, 79, of Lumberton, died peacefully on April 21, 2013. Nira was born in Sycamore, Al on July 30, 1933 to Ambrose Ford and Evie Ray Morgan. She is a retired manager from K-Mart in Beaumont. Nira was preceded in death by her husband of 45 year, Walter Strain, her son, Kenneth Ware and her daughter, Juanita Ware Shellnut.
Survivors include two grandsons, three granddaughters and two great grandsons; sisters, Victoria Reagan and Joyce Westmoreland of Alabama, Betty Harris of Zavalla and Bobbie Morris of Port Arthur; brother Ray Morgan of Port Arthur; many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial to celebrate her life will be held at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 4:00 pm.
