Bobby Mack CurtisBobby Mack Curtis, 83, of Proctorville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Heartland of Riverview Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimers. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Rev. Jeff Black. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Bobby was born December 22, 1929 in Proctorville, Ohio a son of the late Homer Curtis and Helen Black Curtis. He was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Owens Illinois with 41 years of service. He was a WWII Army veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Billy Curtis; a sister Wanda Curtis; and a step son Jerry Murdock. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Betty Curtis; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Lisa Curtis of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law Jill and Davis Ray of Dawsonville, GA; daughter-in-law Judy Murdock of Barboursville, WV; six grandchildren Heather Himes, Christopher Ray, Joshua Ray, Emily Ray, Briana Ray, and Jeremy Ray; one step grandchild Jamie Murdock; one great grandchild Bebo Himes; one step great grandchild Joshua Murdock; one brother Lindy Curtis of Huntington, WV; special sister-in-law Jeanne Hawk of Grove City, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Stan and Edna Wesser. The family would like to thank Heartland Nursing Home for their wonderful care of Bobby. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Hospice of Huntington.
