1978 - 2013

John Edwin Finch, age 34, of Peaceful Fork Road, Morehead, Kentucky, a loving husband, father, son, and brother, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, of complications from pneumonia.

Born July 17, 1978, in Cabell County, West Virginia, he is the son of Harley Edwin and Gina Fuller Finch of Chesapeake, Ohio.

On January 5, 2006, John was united in marriage to Kelli Caldwell-Finch, who survives along with two sons, Nicholas Finch and Dylan Finch, both at home; his parents; and one sister, Jennifer Eaves and husband Brad of Chesapeake, Ohio. He also loved being an uncle to Sam Eaves and Harper Egbert, and an honorary uncle to Marley Hurst, Will Hurst, and Emory Grose.

John was a Social Services Clinician II for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and worked tirelessly protecting the smallest victims of abuse in the Commonwealth. He enjoyed all kinds of music, good food, Cincinnati Reds baseball, and Bengals football.

John was an active member of the Johnson First Church of God and loved spending time with his family, church family, friends, and co-workers. The world is a brighter place because of John; he will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Johnson First Church of God, 590 Cranston Road, Morehead, KY 40351 with the Rev. Ben Furman officiating. Burial and a graveside service at 4:30 p.m. will follow at the Rome Cemetery in Proctorville, Ohio.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Johnson First Church of God until the funeral service at 1 p.m.

A fund for Nicholas and Dylan has been established. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to #Team Finch Memorial Fund, Kentucky Bank, 1500 Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, KY 40351

Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351 and Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio assisted the family with local arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
