Joan Fiske HoltFuneral services for Joan Fiske Holt, 90, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Monday, June 3, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Sunday evening at Farmer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Holt passed away May 31, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Born in Edmonton, England in 1922, Mrs. Holt was a 58 year resident of Silsbee. As a young lady, Mrs. Holt served her country in the WRNS (Women's Royal Naval Service). Joan was a woman of faith, and a long time member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught kindergarten Sunday School classes for more than 40 years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, S.C.A.T., was secretary-treasurer of the Prime Timers and a Cub Scout den mother. She enjoyed visiting nursing homes where she brightened the day of many of the residents. Mrs. Holt was happiest when surrounded by her loving family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents William 'Bill' and Christine Lily Russell Chase and her husband of 47 years, MSgt Harry Nelson Holt, USMC.

Leaving behind to cherish her memories are her sons, Russell Holt and wife Jo Ann of Lake Jackson and William 'Bill' Holt and wife Emily of Silsbee; daughter Christine Graves and husband Michael of Liberty Hill; granddaughters, Jennifer Holt-McKellar and husband Alex of The Woodlands, Kimberly Holt of Silsbee, Kelsey Holt of Lake Jackson and Katherine Graves of Austin and grandsons Michael Graves Jr of Liberty Hill and Major Kyle Holt, USAFR and wife Dr. Terri Holt of Gallatin TN.

Mrs. Holt was an amazing woman and a dear family friend. She was a role model to us all and will be missed dearly. God bless her and her family for all the love they have shared.
