I accidentally learned of my 3rd cousin's death today. As a seasoned psychotherapist, I am not surprised to read the first person accounts of how he touched your lives in the Tri-State. His mother Rosemma and her sisters were of such good and cheerful heart, their off spring for generations will no doubt continue to positively influence the community where they live and are wisely welcomed. RIP

I was saddened to hear about Chuck. I worked with Chuck for several years at WTCR on the morning show. He was one of the kindest, funniest and most compassionate people I ever met. It always brightened my mornings arriving at work at 4:00 a.m. to have Chuck there making jokes and helping me wake up. He was always ready to help anyone in need and devoted many hours to benefit charities. The world is a little less bright with his passing.

We were so thrilled to hear that Chuck was willing to step in and provide the music for our daughter's wedding reception, at a moment's notice, due to a scheduling conflict with another DJ. Thank you Chuck for helping make the evening so beautiful, you will be sadly missed in our community!!!!!! Don and Pat Spotloe

Chuck was like family...not only to us, but to everyone he knew...and that's simply because he made us feel that way!!! Once you met Chuck, you could count on him remembering your name and always being there for you. He was our wedding DJ back in 2006...people are still talking about what a great time they had...and a big part of that was because Chuck Black made it so special and unforgettable!!! We send our heartfelt prayers to his children, grand babies and family. Yes it is a terrible loss and we pray that God gives you the strength to get through the coming days. But you were blessed to have him in your life and his legacy and his memory will live on through you and through all of us who were lucky enough to call him "friend"...

I'm remembering the great times I had back in high school at Fairland with Chuck starting our own radio station, playing golf at Forest Hills and trying to find girls! I miss you, my friend. You not only brought life to me, but to countless others over the many years you were in radio. I recall 3 or 4 years ago Chuck emceeing a concert at Pullman Sq. He singled me out to the crowd, recalling how we got into radio together at Fairland. Nice touch, Chuck! Blessings to the Black family at this time. Know that Chuck was a wonderful friend and a sweetheart of a guy. I'm better for knowing him. I miss his essence, laughter and good heartedness.

I was very saddened to hear of Chuck's death. We went back a long time to our days at WMUL-FM, Marshall's radio station, in the late '70s. I always knew he would make it big in local radio. He truly loved his job and our tri-state area. May God give comfort to all of his family and friends at this time.

I knew chuck since I was a little kid. My mom was friends with everyone at WTCR and I remember going with her to take homemade candy, bread, jelly, and other things to the station for everyone. Chuck would always greet me with a smile and a high five. Eventually the high five wasn't so high anymore but we kept it going anyways. Last time I saw him here in Louisa at Big Blue Motors he was the one who had to jump a little for that high five and we had a good laugh about that. We would always go see Chuck whenever he had a remote nearby back in the day at Ron Perry Auto Mall in Louisa, or when he was here for Septemberfest. Chuck was an awesome person and my morning drive to work wont be the same anymore.

We have so many memories with Chuck back in the 80s at WTCR. Even though we called and aggeravated him so much everyday, when we were voting for our favorite DJ to ride the elephant in the Shriners Circus, even though we were voting for Jesse James, he took it in stride, and just laugh and count every vote we called in. We will never for get him he was the best. We had a lot more memories also. RIP Chuck we love you always. Love The Pollard Road Gang.

Marsha, Craig and families: It was such a shock when I read about Chuck. All of us Ellis kids loved coming to your Mom and Dad's home for parties, picnics or just hanging out. Chuck was the youngest, and naturely I think he was picked on the most. One time Danny and Craig tied him up in the closet until they could get gone to meet some girls. Love and Prayers, Danny and Daisy

I've expressed my thoughts & condolences now on my Facebook status, Chuck's wall, Bobby's wall, the DAWG website, & now on here....& it still only scratches the service of all the wonderful things I could say about Chuck & all the memories I have of him. Some of the best times I had growing up were the times when Bobby & I would help my dad & Chuck DJ parties/reunions (remember the BJA Trucking parties, Bobby? Good times!). I lost my daddy 6/11/06 & now, 7 days shy of 7 yrs later, we've lost Chuck...but Heaven has gained another angel! Say HI to Daddy for me, Chuck, & you all have fun blasting your tunes together up there!
